Independent Living for Seniors

CILNM serves people of all ages and all disabilities Frequently we are asked to assist in helping seniors remain in their own homes and stay as independent as possible.

Services provided to senior at CILNM include:

Home adaptations:
Seniors may contact CILNM for services regarding how to adapt their home to meet their physical limitations and needs.  Often these are simple things such as rearranging the furniture in the home to provide the safest and easiest access or lever handles on door knobs for easier grasping.  Home access may be an issue that can be resolve by utilizing the Ramp Program.  Often times older people begin to have more difficulty in doing simple household tasks and may call to see if there are other options such as extension researchers to avoid having to bend down to pick items off the floor or to reach items on higher shelves.  Adaptations for seniors could include dressing assistance such as one handed buttoners, aides for cooking such as one handed can openers and or many others.  Contact CILNM for more information.
